Photographer Astrid Scheuermann has documented the scientific work on the Oder river, met local people and captured their perspectives. The documentary project also sheds light on the future of the Oder after the environmental disaster of summer 2022.

In addition to an introduction by the photographer, IGB researcher Dr Martin Pusch, head of the ODER~SO special investigation programme, will present the research on the river. The event will also feature a musical improvisation by the artist collective FrauVonDa//. In their project ‘OderHive’, the ensemble transforms field recordings and sounds from the Oder into a sensual sound collage that impressively brings the habitats of different organisms to life.

Share your thoughts, ask questions and join the conversation! We look forward to seeing you there and to a lively exchange!
