The European Month of Photography Berlin (EMOP Berlin) is the largest festival for photography in Germany. As part of this year's event, Astrid Scheuermann will be presenting her photographic project on the Oder River at the Retramp Gallery in Berlin-Neukölln from 7 to 10 March 2025.

EVERYTHING FLOWS is a long-term project that documents the effects of the environmental disaster in the Oder River in the summer of 2022 and the ecological changes in the border region. In close collaboration with scientists from Germany and Poland, Astrid Scheuermann also sheds light on the voices and perspectives of local residents in order to capture the human and social dimensions of the disaster. The documentary project also raises questions about the future of the Oder as one of the last free-flowing river systems in Europe.

ODER~SO scientist Sai Hariharan will give an introductory lecture at the vernissage on 6 March 2025.

Astrid Scheuermann is a German-Panamanian photographer and filmmaker. Her visual work deals with themes such as cultural diversity, identity, the relationship between people and the environment and collective memory. Astrid Scheuermann lives in Berlin.
